Dr. Gina Delgado finds her invention, GeneDancer, slipping out of her control. Demoted and threatened by her employer, she must accept exile on the distant mining planet of Xuizo as she waits for her chance to uncover why her project failed. To make matters worse, she has to work on a mysterious research project for Samuel Greigsen, the very man who wrecked her career. Greigsen has his own agenda and is willing to go to any lengths to carry it out.
