Shelly Anderson grew up dreaming of being a Starganaut like her ancestor, Kaity. After a surprise interrogation, Shelly learns of a new orb and wonders if her dreams will come true. However, service as a Starganaut carries a cost. 

The galaxy plunges into war as the faceless Myds invade. Shelly gets a crash course in combat as world after world falls to their ruthless leader, turning her dreams into nightmares. Making things worse is her deteriorating relationship with her brother, Derek, which threatens to fracture the team.

Derek Anderson has spent ten years stuck in the past. Even fame as a hover-racer can't compensate for the tragedy that changed his life. When the Starganauts are reborn, Derek is eager to become their leader and take them into battle. Yet the dreaded Myds test him to his limits. 

Old wounds reopen, compromising his ability to lead and his relationship with his naive sister. If Derek can't overcome the shadows of his past, the Myds will overwhelm Vexador.
