I Am Safe talks about how powerful the mind is. Sometimes we hold onto negative thoughts like fear or anger for too long. The problem with this is that we can lose control. This book explains the subject and teaches children how to control their emotions in several different ways. Children will also learn to recognize when a negative emotion is the product of their imagination. They will understand that some thoughts are just lies that haunt the mind, and that to face those illusions they need to distinguish the falsehoods so they can replace them with positive thoughts. All this is explained by Randa Canter in a competent and motivational manner.

I enjoyed how Randa Canter inspires confidence in children by allegorically showing how truth is the way to confront lies. This idea can be applied in daily practice. I Am Safe can motivate children to talk about what scares them or what they don't like so that they can understand this better. Not all fears are created equal, but they can all be resolved with self-confidence. Canter mentions several examples of how to achieve that trust. For this topic, communication is essential.
