In 1850s Hobart Town in Van Diemen's Land (later known as Tasmania), Isabel Saxby is a successful business woman with independent means, partly due to an anonymous benefactor. Unmarried, Isabel falls in love with Barnaby Micklejohn, a widower assigned from England to work as an official in the colonial government. While their romance flourishes, Isabel carefully avoids revealing her past. She receives a letter from her mother begging her to return to Worcester in England to visit her dying father. Postponing plans for her future with Barnaby, her sense of duty compels her to embark on the long voyage. Aboard the renowned ship SS Great Britain, Isabel's extraordinary dark and tragic past catches up with her, but at what cost to her future with Barnaby? HONOUR THY FATHER is an astonishing love story brimming with good intentions undermined by dishonour, unscrupulous treachery and torment, and is bursting with the unexpected twists and turns adored by fans of NANCY CARSON.
