The new edition of this text admirably fills the need for a concise primer on the central topics involved in Human In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Supplying a comprehensive and hands-on approach to IVF, this source presents established state-of-the-art procedures and techniques, as well as the most current research in the field. Expert contributors also discuss the history of IVF and the potential of future research. Offering essential information for reproductive endocrinologists, IVF practitioners and embryologists, this book guides readers though every step of human assisted conception, from patient pre-treatment to monitoring of outcomes. The text familiarizes readers with key procedures in ovarian stimulation, oocyte retrieval, assessment of gametes and subsequent fertilization, embryo culture, and micromanipulation procedures such as ICSI and embryo biopsy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Methods of embryo selection and cryobiology are presented, along with practical aspects of transfer techniques and factors influencing implantation. Of importance for establishing and maintaining optimal IVF outcomes, quality management is reviewed. This new edition will be an invaluable resource for all who work within the team that performs human IVF, from the established practitioner through to those new to the field.

Industry Reviews

This is probably the best of the books I was sent to review for 2018. I really enjoyed the well written first chapter with an important history of IVF, in real danger of being lost or forgotten in the market driven world of IVF in 2018. The detailed content of the chapters is very helpful, well referenced and terribly useful as an update to date reference book for all aspects of IVF. This feels like a very responsible book aiming at the majority of clinical teams working in assisted conception. It's text is well delivered and scripted to ensure it is readable and accessible. This should be on every clinic's shelves for ease of access to this material. This is an excellent book - good perspectives and well written - covering an useful range of clinical and research areas. I really enjoyed this.
