GMDSS

The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) - the maritime equivalent to the emergency services number - provides a fast and efficient way of calling for assistance at sea, whatever the size of craft or its location.

About the Author

Denise Brehaut has been actively involved over the last 20 years in the development and teaching of GMDSS courses at the UK's Warsash Maritime Academy, a campus of the Southampton Solent University. She has directly taught over 4,000 students and is also a highly experienced GMDSS examiner.
