Peter Walker, a software entrepreneur from Seattle, receives an anonymous message from someone in his past. The cryptic note begs him to fly to Europe but gives no clues as to why. Peter's curiosity gets the better of him and he embarks on a journey that marks the beginning of a complex web of intrigue, business, politics, murder, and terrorism.

Upon his arrival in Europe Peter is immediately drawn into a treacherous maze lined with mysterious murders and high-tech sabotage at a Swiss telecommunications company. Little does he know he is nothing but a pawn in a much bigger plot designed to destabilize the world.

In a surprising turn of events, Peter suddenly becomes the target of assassins, U.S. Special Operations forces, and eventually the entire U.S. government. While Peter is desperately fighting to stay alive a series of unprecedented terrorist acts across four continents shock the world. The global economy is rapidly spiraling out of control and the president of the United States prepares for a full-out nuclear attack.

Peter travels the globe in pursuit of the terrorists. The U.S. government believes Walker is implicated and is doing all it can to terminate the elusive software icon. Against all odds, Peter survives numerous assassination attempts and is finally able to identify the surprising architect of the terrorist acts. He narrowly escapes the clutches of the U.S. agents tasked with eliminating him, and eventually reaches Washington, DC, where he briefs the president.

The incomprehensible final terrorist event, which will guarantee a never-ending global war targeted at the United States, is already under way. The U.S. intelligence agencies and armed forces are unable to stop the rapidly approaching disaster, and the president has no choice but to rely on Peter Walker to avert the impending Armageddon.
