Geographic Information Science (GIScience) is the knowledgebase that supports the exploration and analysis of geospatial data. In Geographic Information Science: Introductory Concepts & Applications, the authors have designed an introductory textbook that uses language that is student-friendly to those outside the discipline of geography to emphasize the basic theoretical concepts supporting this knowledgebase. Each topic is paired with a laboratory exercise that familiarizes students with the hands-on application of methods used to acquire, store, represent, analyze and interpret geospatial data. The laboratory exercises were designed using Purdue University's MultiSpec and ESRI's ArcGIS Pro.
