About the Author

Steve Bertman first became fascinated with archaeology when he was in fourth grade. After studying Latin in high school, he attended New York, Brandeis and Columbia Universities, where he obtained degrees in Classics and Near Eastern Studies. Steve is now professor Emeritus of Classical Studies at Canada's University of Windsor, where he taught a very popular course entitled Land of the Pharaohs for many years. He is also the author of many serious books, including Handbook to Life in Ancient Mesopotamia (Oxford University Press) and The Eight Pillars of Greek Wisdom (Barnes & Noble). Though many editors and critics have laughed at his writings in the past, Funny Mummy is Steve Bertman's first deliberately humorous book. Steve lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan, with his wife, Elaine. Their two children, Laura and Matthew and their five grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Jordyn, Logan and Brandon, live nearby. It was for them and and their children that this book was originally written.
