Valerie Harlow was supposed to be special.
When a college recruiter chose her: eighteen and wide-eyed: for a full ride scholarship to study fashion, Valerie thought she'd been plucked from her dreary life for a grand destiny. What she got instead was eternal servitude to the fae as a laundry maid, stuck in an eighteen year old body while the fairy fruit she was forced to handle slowly drove the humans around her insane.
After nearly two decades of scrubbing royal linens and seething quietly, Valerie is singled out from her peers yet again. Soon-to-be Fairy Queen Mara sees something special in her, and Valerie is determined to use that special-ness to help all her human friends still stuck on laundry duty... if she survives the bargain offered to her.
But when Prince Sylas (Mara's betrothed. The most lethal predator of the West Court. The. Future. King.) proves to be everything Valerie was told the fae aren't: caring, protective, and maybe even interested in Valerie's opinions, she begins to question everything she thought she knew about the fae world.
And the worst part of it all? She might actually be starting to like him.
