I love his sometimes-agonising approach to plotting his daily activities and overcoming his troubles-maintaining a household, outfitting a new office space, deciding what to wear. All the old friends are back-Stella, and her perils of politics, Robert and his coaching of the choir. A relaxing, compelling read, drenched with enjoyable bits of rural life and the search for the perfect day.
