Fear-foal

Fear-foal is a beautifully illustrated story book with a very important life lesson: It shows that courage comes from inside and the more you use it, the braver you will become. In this book 'fear' and 'foal' have been put together to make a fun word 'fear-foal' - a foal that is full of fear. The story is set on a farm.

Twitch is a baby donkey. He is frightened of everything - things he can see; things that move; things he can hear; and especially night time. One day he is walking with his mother when a chicken runs by. He does not know if the chicken wants to hurt him or play with him, but he is too scared to find out. So Twitch runs away shouting for help. All the other donkeys laugh at him.

Twitch's mother tells him that one day he will be brave, he just has not found his courage yet. Twitch believes her but decides to stay by her side until he finds it. Time goes on and Twitch is still following his mother around the farm, unlike the other foals who play games a safe distance away.

One morning the donkeys are standing close together when Twitch spots a snake about to bite his mother. Without thinking, he kicks the snake away from her. All the donkeys cannot believe that Twitch would do such a brave thing.

Twitch has found his courage. Now he knows where to find it and uses it all the time. He can do things even when he feels afraid. And the more he uses his courage, the braver he becomes.

Fear-foal is part of the exciting Farm-tastic series. This is a set of 10 story books for children, with farm animal characters. Word play is used to bring an additional element of fun to the books. Each story highlights a valuable lesson, such as the importance of hope, that we all have a purpose, and the power of an imagination.
