Created in the spirit of her funny and functional Work It! 17-Month Desk Jotter Calendar, Every Day Is Epic is a 365-day guided journal full of Mary Kate McDevitt's witty illustrated prompts that encourage everyday creativity and optimism. It's a celebration of everyday events-from the mundane to the magnificent-that all add up to something incredibly awesome. "Iron out the details" of your next big idea in the outline of a winkingly drawn wrinkled shirt and iron. Fill in what is going with . . . ? to give voice to your newest epic rant. Write a message of inspiration on the side of a blimp. What's something you overheard today? What's something you saw? Let your brainstorms "simmer" on a page illustrated with a giant soup pot.

The journal fits any year-it can be started whenever the reader/writer/doodler wants to begin (any month, any week), and completed in any order. And it's completely low pressure. Because each prompt is so thoughtfully illustrated, you'll never experience panic over the blank page. So if all you can muster is adding a smile or a frown to record your mood today, that's OK! Every Day Is Epic is a daily exercise that inspires creativity and feels actually doable.
