When schoolboy Jimmy Dobson sets a mistreated bear cub free from the local circus, little does he know how much trouble he is getting himself into. Embarking on an adventure in a mysterious cave with Dudley the bear cub in tow, Jimmy is a boy with a pure heart who is destined to travel to another time. Transported back to 1841, Jimmy soon discovers that life in the pioneering past is a whole lot harder than his school history books made it out to be. When Dudley the cub falls into the hands of a ruthless circus owner, Jimmy realises he will need the help of a local to restore balance to the wilderness. With years of experience under his belt, gentle giant Jeremiah is just the mountain man for the job.
