Pandemics are often associated with viruses and bacteria occurring in wildlife in natural environments. Thus, diseases of epidemic and pandemic scale are mostly zoonotic, some of which include AIDS, Zika Virus, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), and COVID-19.
