The potential for unlimited power is revealed...
"Elpis" - Adventure Fiction Novel for All Ages

It is true that we can't read as much we'd love to. But we all love to do some light reading from time to time. A book that suits our convenience should at least meet criteria like this:

- Should have an interesting plot, but simple enough to read through without trouble.
- Should have some humor; doesn't have to be a comedy, but a few light moments make a good reading.
- It shouldn't be too long; 300 - 400 pages are okay; working life doesn't give us that much time anyways.

"Elpis" by Aaron McGowan is just the perfect fiction novel!

In a world where magical abilities are utilized through the Nexi Stones, there is one stone that stands high above the rest, shrouded in myth and mystery--the Elpis. Broken into four fragments centuries in the past, the Elpis waits to be pieced back together, and to grant its user godlike powers that could reshape the world forever.

Raised in a quiet town, Terico would much rather be traveling the world and fighting monsters than working at his parents' shop and dealing with school. His life ambitions change dramatically, however, when his village is attacked and everything he holds dear is taken away from him. Delkol, leader of the feared Brotherhood and ruler of the aggressive Shire Kingdom, seeks the pieces of the Elpis, and is willing to burn Terico's village to the ground in order to find one.

When the terror has passed and Terico stands at the greatest crossroads in his life, there is only one thing on his mind--one goal that encompasses his very existence. Revenge.

Here's why you should grab a copy of this novel:

- It is an action filled story; no boredom!
- Not too long for you, but just long enough to engage you.
- Lots of action but no sexual violence; therefore suitable for teenagers and young adults.
- Captivating yet simple plot; you don't have to think too hard.
- It is available in kindle and paperbacks

The book is among the top 100 Amazon bestsellers, and it would make a great read for people of any age or education.

Industry Reviews

Elpis is an epic tale of magic and revenge. It has very good characters will good dialogue to back it up. The plot is strong enough to keep you waiting for the next page through the whole book. The plot cruises along at a great pace. It never goes so fast that you can't follow anything, but never so slow that you lose interest. Another nice thing about Elpis is how long it is for how much it costs. You get more content for you money than most things on Kindle. Elpis is a fantastic book for anyone who wants a story of an adventure with magic. - As someone that can enjoy just about any book, I can't speak to the style, technique, prose choice and other qualities that literature is judged by. BUT I can tell how much I enjoyed this story! I felt like I was reading a video game. Specifically something that would fit in with the Final Fantasy perfectly. Add elements of Dragon ball and other modern fantasy culture and I would expect the result to be something like Elpis. There were some literary tropes/devices that lead you to think you know what will happen next, then you find out that you were wrong. Mostly unpredictable, I found myself saying "holy cow!" The action scenes were very clear compared to many other books that attempt description of close hand combat. I felt like I could picture what was actually going on. The use of the nexi stones in these battles was very creative, though sometimes repetitive. A quick read, surprises and great visuals made this a very enjoyable story. Thanks Aaron! - I'm very good at predicting outcomes, but I didn't see the end of this story coming at all. Elpis was a very touching book about love in all forms. Not that this book didn't pack a punch! I would be lying if I said it was like walking through a field of flowers and sunshine. This book is filled with emotion, even though it's a tragedy of sorts, with a storyline that goes beyond just Terico's mission. The people on this journey with him are more than just characters in the background, each playing their role in such a well-written plot. McGowan writes fearlessly, which is refreshing in an author. He wasn't afraid to let people go, and he didn't allow his characters play the victims. This is a great book that I would recommend to anybody. - I managed to snag a copy during a free release special and honestly, I was hooked from the first chapter. There isn't a dull moment in this action packed mind boggling adventure. Its chock full of twists and the ending will leave you breathless. Each character is sculpted in such a way it's hard not to become attached. Without revealing too much I'll add to the fact that literally ANYTHING can happen and does happen in this amazing story line. From start to finish and from page to page you'll be guessing as to what will happen next and even if you make a million guesses, you still won't be correct. Arron is a very unique author who is able to captivate his readers and immerse them into the fantasy world of the Elpis. A place where magic is real and any manner of creature both familiar and his own creation exist. There's love, hate, bitterness, revenge, blood, and laughter. With a magic system much like the card game Magic the Gathering characters in the book use Nexi stones or magical stones of various colors to fuel various types of magic. The novel is both easy to follow and entrancing with each sentence painting a picture in your mind's eye of expansive beautiful cities, lush green farm lands, and terrifying and elaborate battles. It does have its light hearted moments which help to balance out the serious tone the book takes on at times. So descriptive and imaginative is the language that you'll find yourself, hours into the book without realizing so much time had passed. For any fantasy novel lover out there I highly, highly recommend giving this book a chance. You won't regret it at all.
