One cannot discuss the Renaissance without coming across the name of Desiderius Erasmus. He was renowned for scholarship, views on education, religion, and conduct. Erasmus found himself in the midst of the religious debate in Europe during the sixteenth century and regardless of where his path led he would find himself subject to praise and scrutiny. Desiderius Erasmus: The Folly or Far Sightedness of Renaissance Europe's Greatest Mind will look at the life of a scholar who chose to put his own learning ahead of income, obtained patronage from the wealthy and influenced education for centuries to come. AUTHOR: Amy was born and bred in Liverpool before moving to the Midlands to study criminal justice and becoming a civil servant. She has long been interested in history, reading as much and as often as she could. Her writing journey began with her blog, before writing her first book. Amy has been a guest on podcasts including Tudors Dynasty and Talking Tudors and has delivered talks at the Wolves Literature Festival and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Amy is the author of Educating the Tudors (2023), Women's Lives in the Tudor Era (2024), and, Mary Tudor, Queen of France (2025). 30 b/w illustrations
