A new ship and a new three-pronged mission face the intrepid men and women of Bring It Up. They must journey to Alaska to install a new measuring system for the Alaska Ocean Observing System (AOOS). A plot to destroy part of the Alaska Pipeline is uncovered in this adventure, and the search for a sacred cave

  1. deep in the Brooks Range necessitates the three-pronged mission. In the cave, it is believed there is evidence that a traveler from Egypt visited the Brooks Range sometime before 2600 BC. Beneath the ice, a steamer is discovered with tons of gold on board, leading to a discovery of nefarious deeds in the past and wicked men continuing their behavior for the future. A pair of assassins dogs the party searching for the 1 lost cave and nearly kills Cecilia Shepherd, who is six months pregnant with their first child. Terrorists attempt to blow up part of the pipeline but are stopped with only seconds left on the explosive device wired to the structure. Ice storms threaten the ship and crew deploying the AOOS system.

But then the Midwest is threatened with a total blackout as terrorists plan to destroy the electrical plants in the Midwest, rob the Federal Reserve, and blow up the Willis Tower, all in the midst of one of the coldest winters in the history of the Windy City. The team goes undercover to unmask the terrorist, save two kidnapped British women studying at a nearby college, and uncover a link between China, ISIS, and a shadowy figure in South America recruiting terrorists for acts against America and Canada. Don't miss this adventure in Deadly Cold.

One of the things I love most about writing a book is the research that goes into the project. Being neither an oceanographer nor, archaeologist, I must dig deep into resources in the local library, in my own extensive library, and on the Internet. Each character in my books has a photograph, a character sheet that reminds me what he or she carries in his pockets or purse, what type of personality he or she exhibits. Of course, there is the outline, an important part of writing a book, which must be detailed and thorough. Even then, after countless hours of preparation, I discover something I need to research in order to write about it. I love every moment of the process and hope you enjoy each book in this exciting series.
