He was born in Oshawa, Ontario and moved to Saskatchewan to attend seminary at Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan. He worked as an associate pastor, a street missionary through The Door of Hope (a local street-level outreach), and as a classroom teacher, principal, and psychologist in the Meadow Lake education system. He has a beautiful wife named Karen, four wonderful children, and seven spunky grandchildren.
