Crossing the Threshold

Paul Taylor believes he has left his old life behind. After abandoning the cut-throat world of City banking, he retreats to the quiet village of Altston, hoping that carpentry, silence, and distance will finally free him from the unsettling dreams that have followed him for years.

But Altston is not the refuge he imagined.

On his first night, a haunting dream of forbidden passion returns with disturbing clarity. A twisted oak tree in his garden carries wind chimes and a dream catcher he cannot explain. The house grows bitterly cold. A scent of mint drifts through empty rooms. Villagers speak in riddles about "village time," and secrets buried deep.

As the boundary between dream and waking narrows, Paul realises that some thresholds, once crossed, do not allow a way back.
