High vaccination rates in Israel face a surge in covid-19 in August 2021, and high vaccination rates in Taiwan1 (June 2022) also face a surge in covid-19. This sends a signal to the world that we should have a complete and effective strategy to control the coronavirus, especially the Omicron variant, and not just rely on vaccination.

Peter Chew's low-cost strategy for high-infection countries is to make covid-19 from a pandemic to endemic. The strategic goal is to use the low-cost tracking of existing super spreaders to reduce high viral load transmission or change high viral load transmission to low viral load transmission to prevent hospitalization and death. In addition, this strategy also helps to get closer to herd immunity with a lower risk.

2nd edition has some updates, such as giving some information about Omicron. Therefore, 2nd edition focuses on updating the latest information. As information about COVID-19 changes rapidly, it is important to update the latest information in new editions.
