She's a journalism student who believes athletes are overrated. He's the basketball captain who refuses to speak to reporters. One assignment brings them together... and leads to headlines neither of them saw coming.
Maya Brooks never wanted to cover basketball. She believes the university spends far too much time celebrating athletes while students with stories that truly matter are ignored. But when she's assigned to profile Westbridge University's biggest star, Jaxon Cole, saying no isn't an option.
Jaxon has spent years avoiding reporters, the last thing he needs is an ambitious journalism student following him around campus. One scandal. One bad headline. One wrong story could destroy everything he's spent years working toward.
But the more time Maya spends with Jaxon, the more she begins to question everything she believed about him—and everything she believed about basketball.
Somehow, the interviews become the best part of Jaxon's day. He starts looking for Maya long before she comes looking for him. What begins as a reluctant assignment soon becomes an unexpected friendship, and before either of them realizes it, friendship turns into something neither of them planned for.
Jaxon is given the opportunity he's dreamed of his entire life. Choosing his future means leaving Maya behind without a chance to say goodbye.
Heartbroken, Maya is forced to move on with her life but when Jaxon suddenly returns, asking for a second chance, she'll have to decide whether some love stories deserve another ending... or are better left in the past.
Because sometimes the hardest choice isn't between love and ambition—it's finding the courage to choose each other before it's too late.
