It is notably a relationship grounded on avarice and false love, rather than on true love. It is precisely here where the similarities with a "chapiadora" begin and end in this book, since I provide a rather different, more nuanced conceptualization of this personality.
To delve into the world and mind, and heart of a "chapiadora" is to transcend a particular country, culture, subculture, gender, and even class or age. What is revealed in this book points to a much more complex and often harmful world phenomenon that too many of us are unwilling to discuss out of fear or embarrassment.
This short story purports to be a true-to-life account. It takes a deep look into the behavior and mind-set of a "chapiadora", which, when studied side by side, I call the "Anatomy of a chapiadora". It is my sincere hope that this short account will be useful in averting emotional and economic upheaval in people's lives.
