Industry Reviews

Cats Are People, Too:
Will have pet lovers chuckling throughout the course of the book, which is broken up into sections like "Cat and Mouse Games" and "Big Cats," ending on a hilarious "Cartoons without a Cat-egory" free-for-all. An entertaining and enjoyable collection that can be read in one sitting or one panel at a time, perfect for readers who enjoy animal humor and behaviors. --Booklist

Dogs Are People, Too:

"Coverly opens each chapter with a photo and story about one of the various dogs from his own past. These segments offer a touching and humorous perspective and really help bridge the many parts of this book into a more complete narrative. The simple format makes this book perfect for browsing." --School Library Journal

"A large collection of dog-themed cartoons from the creator of the syndicated panel Speed Bump, punctuated with snapshots and fond reminiscences of his own real pooches." --Kirkus Reviews

The Speedbump and Slingshot Misadventure series:

A Florida Sunshine State Young Readers' Award Selection

Dave Coverly is ridiculously funny and clever and creative. I'm jealous of his bird brain. --Stephan Pastis, New York Times-bestselling author of the Timmy Failure series

Coverly's drawings are full of visual jokes, and the narrative is packed with playful language. . . . Clever, imaginative, and precisely targeted to its audience, this new series is sure to please. --Booklist
