With their debut on Korean television on June 13, 2013, BTS announced that they were a group worth following. Exploring themes of disenfranchised youth, the power of self-love, and the struggle for inspiration, they have built a song library full of inspiring songs that have touched the hearts of their fandom, ARMY, worldwide. But the path from their hardscrabble days as a new band on the Kpop scene to accomplished musicians who sell out stadiums was a bumpy one filled with uncertainties. Their hopes, dreams, and fears as the seven members grew up together and became a family are reflected in their song lyrics and performances, from the School era right up to the release of their chart-topping hit "Butter." AUTHOR: Lynn Jatania is a writer of both fiction and non-fiction from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her short stories have won several awards across Canada and her non-fiction essays and columns can be found in multiple publications. She became ARMY in 2020 with the release of BE and, after falling down the rabbit hole of "just wanting to know their names," founded the website BTS101.info to help new ARMY come on board and learn about the band. She runs the YouTube channel BTS MVP with her two daughters and continues to force her son to listen to BTS in the car. She has had the joy of seeing BTS live in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas during the Permission to Dance tour, and is delighted every day at the creativity, humour, and generosity of other ARMY.
