Hay un rumor en la selva, nadie sabe qui n es Cuquedo, pero todos dicen que da mucho miedo y asusta a los animales que est n parados en el mismo lugar. Como ninguno quiere que lo asusten, todos deciden ir de all para ac y de ac para all . Solo se paran para avisar a los animales que se encuentran, para que se unan a ellos. Hipop tamos, cebras, elefantes, jirafas, rinocerontes formar n una divertid sima manada de animales.Para nada se imaginan que Cuquedo, el personaje del que todos hablan, sea un peque simo y entra able monstruito, que no da nada de miedo.
Al verlo por primera vez, nadie intuye que l pueda ser el asustador de quien todos hablan. As que cuando se paran para avisarlo de que se una a su manada si no quiere ser asustado... se convierte en la ocasi n perfecta que Cuquedo estaba esperando!!!

Cuquedo es un libro seleccionado por el Plan Nacional de Lectura de Portugal, donde ya ha conseguido m s de 10 ediciones. Se puede utilizar para explicar a los ni os que los rumores no siempre son ciertos. Hay otro libro del mismo personaje: Cuquedo y un amor que da miedo.
El texto de Clara Cunha juega con las repeticiones, para que los ni os intuyan qu suceder a continuaci n y participen de la historia. Las ilustraciones de Paulo Galindro son una exquisitez, llenas de detalles muy originales, pintadas sobre madera y utilizando hilos de lana negros para crear a Cuquedo.

There is a rumor in the jungle, nobody knows who Cuquedo is, but everyone says he is really scary and frightens the animals who are standing in the same place. As none of them want it to frighten them, they all decide to keep moving back and forth. They only stop to warn the animals they meet, so they can join them. Hippos, zebras, elephants, giraffes, rhinos will form a hilarious herd of animals.
They could never imagine that Cuquedo, the character everyone is talking about, is a tiny and charming little monster, who is not scary at all.
When they see him for the first time, nobody imagines he could be the scary monster everyone is talking about. So when they stop to warn him that he should join the herd if he doesn' t want to be frightened... It turns out to be the perfect occasion that Cuquedo was waiting for!!!

Cuquedo is a book chosen by the Portuguese National Reading Plan, where it has already reached more than 10 editions. Can be used to explain to children that rumors are not always true . There is another book of the same character: Cuquedo y un amor que da miedo.
Clara Cunha's text plays with repetitions , for kids to guess what will happen next and participate in the story. Paulo Galindro' s illustrations are a delicacy, full of very original details, painted on wood and using black wool threads to create Cuquedo.
