From the inside flap of the front cover:

For centuries the technique of cross stitch has inspired work of intricate beauty and style. Many of these projects use linen rather than aida, and with the use of rich threads and unusual combinations a tapestry effect is created, resulting in sumptuous finished pieces that delight the eye. The finishing processes are also highly innovative, with ideas for displaying your work on cabinets, stools, fire-guards, pencil boxes, book covers and clothing, as well as framed pictures, cushions and tablecloths.

This inspirational book includes all the information a cross stitcher needs, from the basic stitch itself and delightful simple patterns, to advanced techniques and complex designs.
