The Perfect Day

Ariana Treasure is thrilled to be a part of her aunt's wedding. As her flower girl, she desperately wants to make the day perfect. And with The Treasure Chest as their hub for preparations, Ariana is helping wherever she can. Unfortunately, while trying to move the freshly made wedding cake to the back room, Ariana accidentally drops it and smears blue icing all over her aunt's wedding dress! To make matters worse, it also starts to rain. It seems the perfect day is lost. Thankfully, with the thriftshop on their side, Ariana and her friends can look for creative solutions—such as a beautiful box of second-hand saris. About the Author

Jacqueline de Rose-Ahern is an international award-winning author. Jacqueline was the recipient of the ACT Writers Centre 2017 Anne Edgeworth Fellowship. Her books have been recognised for a number of awards within Australia and internationally, including winning the travel category of the 2020 American Book Excellence Awards and being shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards in 2017 and 2019. Jacqueline regularly contributes to a variety of online platforms and has appeared at several literary events, including the Canberra Writers Festival, the Goulburn Reader Writer Festival, and the NSW Kids & YA Festival. She holds a Masters in International Development and works in international affairs.

About the Illustrator

Karen Erasmus lives by the sea just south of Melbourne with her children and husband. The coastal environment and the vibrant countryside around her home provide inspiration for her illustrations. Karen’s lively home life often finds its way into her artwork; she loves to create artwork that brings stories to life. She has enjoyed illustrating over 20 picture books. Karen draws on an iPad carefully choosing colour palettes and textures. When she isn’t drawing Karen enjoys travelling, she has lived in many different parts of the world and was originally from the UK. She settled in Melbourne to raise her children and loves her adopted home country.
