Left in a pail at an orphanage as a baby, only something magical can save Eloise from a miserable life and give her the one she's always dreamed of.

Orphaned as a baby, Eloise Pail yearns for a family. Instead, she lives a lonely life trapped in an orphanage and made miserable by the cruel Sister Hortense. Befriended by the village blacksmith, Eloise soon uncovers some strange secrets of yesteryear and learns that something terrible may be about to happen to the village. As troubles and dangers mount, she must learn who to trust and choose between saving the village or belonging to a family of her own. Unless something truly magical happens...

Eloise is a strong heroine that readers will relate to and want to see more of. Perfect for a 9+ readership * Books and Publishing *
a charming, delightful and magical story... I loved this book * Ashleigh Meikle *
Highly recommend. 5 stars... This little book had me completely engaged! It had me guessing right to the end and as the story unwinds, moments of curiosity and hints of magic, creep beautifully in. * restrelax1 - instagram *
Highly recommended. an engrossing, multi layered story about Eloise, a character all readers will admire and love as she battles with her situation. The cold, loveless background bristles with injustice, and the magical turn of the story will further beguile readers' imaginations. What a cracker of a story. * ReadPlus *
This book was so beautifully written, and I am so thankful to have read it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a middle grade that seems ordinary, but has a lovely, tiny magical element to it, too. 4/5 * Little Miss Star *
