
Bethan Roberts
Bethan Roberts, an accomplished author, has released four novels and also scripts dramas for BBC Radio 4. Her works draw inspiration from real-life figures, such as E.M. Forster and his lover Bob Buckingham in "My Policeman," and art collector Peggy Guggenheim in "The Good Plain Cook." In addition to her novels, Roberts explores these relationships further in radio plays like "My Own Private Gondolier," featuring Fiona Shaw. Currently, she is immersed in crafting a novel centered on the life of Elvis Presley. Roberts' writing career took flight in 2006 when she clinched the Olive Cook Award for a short story from the Society of Authors. Her narratives often explore the significance of place, evident in works like "The Pools," set near the power station of her upbringing, and "Mother Island," partially situated on Anglesey, her father's childhood home. With experience teaching creative writing at prestigious institutions and contributing to television documentaries, Roberts resides in Brighton with her family.
