When a young woman disappears into the wilderness leaving no prints behind, Fox Walker and Nataya are tasked with finding her trail. As the number of days spent searching grows, so does the number of people who are hunting for the missing woman. All of them want to find her. But not all of them want her rescued. And Walker knows that not everyone who goes missing is lost ... or wants to be found.
Time is of the essence, forcing Walker to quickly adapt to the unfamilar and rugged North Cascade Mountains of Washington State, where weather and terrain have their own schedule. Aided by a young Search and Rescue team member, Walker must also adjust to working with a third person.
Walker's wisdom and years of tracking experience will be challenged in a place both mystical and steeped with legends.
