This companion to Introducing Urban Design: Interventions and Responses shows how the principles and concepts of urban design can be applied and implemented in a range of real-world settings.

Approaching Urban Design: The Design Process provides a primer that will enable the application of sensitive design principles to urban form. The wider conceptual basis of urban design was discussed in the preceeding companion volume 'Introducing Urban Design: Interventions and Responses', in which key principles, considerations and concepts were introduced. This new volume seeks to show how these might be applied and implemented within a range of real world settings. Written by a team of eminent urban designers, architects and planners under the joint editorship of Marion Roberts & Clara Greed, the book introduces the reader to the subject through a discussion of current issues, approaches and real-world examples.
