Winters end in the City is marked by a final week known as meteor season. While rocks fall from the sky with frequency, it is rare for any impacts to find their way down to the one place everyone lives. But, the end of the Winter of 764 brings with it an exception.
Clifford Bariton falls victim to the unluckiest result of the season. Now, with nothing, he faces infinite possibility. Once a cog in a wheel, happy to do his part, he finds himself ancillary to nothing. Having never considered leaving the City, like every other resident of the thrumming futuristic metropolis, Clifford flees.
Tropical islands and white sand beaches seem to be the best distraction from haunting dreams of the past. Basking in the simplicity of Island life, Clifford regroups and reforms. But, it is not long before he finds his vacation from reality short-lived. With odd occurrences becoming persistently frequent, Clifford navigates the unknown of this unexplored world.
