Love on different planet, about 120,000 words. A group of humans are mysteriously transported to an alien planet, peopled by anthropomorphic carnivores, who no longer hunt but feed upon small domesticated animals in private cubicles, to accommodate and atone for their predatory nature. Among the abducted humans are parted lovers Maggie and Josh, who at last reunite after a struggle to survive, assimilate, then find a way home, despite Josh's troubling relationship with a beautiful alien healer and Maggie's ascension to power in a Matriarchal society.
Others in the group, including Maggie's adolescent twins who grow up in the alien culture, assimilate so completely that they choose to remain on Murmurs.
