Agamemnon

A victorious king returns home from Troy, but the house he enters is already filled with blood, hatred, prophecy, and revenge. The play is the first part of the Oresteia, the only complete surviving trilogy from ancient Greek drama. Aeschylus gives the story immense moral weight, asking whether revenge can ever end revenge, whether victory can be separated from guilt, and whether divine justice works through human suffering.
