A Heart Beyond

Big Time Book Junkie ~ Grace Greene's A Heart Beyond was such an uplifting, enjoyable look into the world of a woman struggling not only with the notoriety that comes from being in the orbit of someone who committed a high-profile crime, but with the loss and fallout of that situation.

Understandably so, Leigh Ann just wanted a safe place to hide and start her life over again. Luckily her cousin offered a place to allow her to heal, but that resulted in Leigh Ann becoming somewhat of a recluse without much interaction with others. That changed when she had a cat thrust upon her...and found herself coming into contact with more people than she'd had in her life for two years. I felt for Leigh Ann and rooted for people that were trying to offer her friendship when she needed it most.

This book is written in Grace Greene's gentle style paired with her beautiful descriptions and keen understanding of human nature. After reading a book by this wonderful author, I always feel as if I just returned from a walk in nature, perhaps near a waterfall with plenty of birdsong to keep me company. The story is engrossing, but Ms. Greene has an easy, peaceful way of getting where she wants to take the reader.

If you haven't yet read Grace Greene, now is the time because you're missing out on what she does best, journeys of the heart and soul to find healing, peace, or a second chance, depending upon the story. I highly recommend A Heart Beyond. In this crazy, discordant, and oftentimes negative world we live in these days, a visit to any of Grace Greene's fictional worlds is just the balm your soul needs.
