36 questions guaranteed to make two strangers fall head over heels in love with each other? What's not to like? A clever, wry, funny, rom-com for fans of The Rosie Project.

Inspired by the real psychology study popularised by the New York Times and its "Modern Love" column, this contemporary YA/crossover is perfect for fans of Eleanor and Park, Jo Jo Moyes, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Cecila Ahern.

Two random strangers. Thirty-six questions to make them fall in love.

Hildy and Paul each have their own reasons for taking part in the psychology study (in Paul's case it is the $40, in Hildy's the reasons are significantly more complex). The study poses the simple question: Can love be engineered between two random strangers?

Hildy and Paul must ask each other 36 questions, ranging from "What is your most terrible memory?" to "When did you last sing to yourself?" By the time Hildy and Paul have made it to the end of the questionnaire, they've laughed and cried and lied and thrown things and run away and come back again. They've also each discovered the painful secret the other was trying so hard to hide. But have they fallen in love?

Industry Reviews
"Clever, wry and funny", says Hot Key of this contemporary rom-com which poses the question: can love be engineered between two strangers?' * The Bookseller *
'A wonderful romance with an interesting twist. Each question will take you closer and closer to these loveable, complex characters. A genuinely lovely novel.' * The Bookbag *
[A] meet-cute story that offers lots of laughs and a message about looking past appearances to make a connection * Publishers Weekly *
What do I love most about Vicki Grant's new novel? The brilliant setup? The witty banter? The heart-pounding, swoon-worthy, sweep-you-off-your-feet romance? Yes, yes, and 36 times yes! * Sarah Mylonowski *
Realistic, lively and hilarious, the ongoing discussions make this book easily accessible. The gradual revelations of the events of their lives provide depth that will resonate with most readers of contemporary YA fiction. An intriguing premise and quirky, oddly endearing characters make this book a joy to read * Atlantic Books Today *
A surprisingly funny, fast-paced contemporary with a solid hook and some great dialogue, though the ending is rather abrupt and it lacks the spark of truly brilliant YA. If you like books by Keris Stainton, Emma Mills or Sarah Mlynowski, you may find something to like here * The Paper Alchemist *
36 Questions That Changed My Mind About You dodges all the rom-com cliches though and has a very realistic grasp on what it's like to grow up and find yourself in today's world. 36 Questions is a fun and uplifting book that shows you that taking a chance might really change your life. Our must read of the month * Thirteen:fourteen *
Hildy and Paul join a university psychological study asking the question: can love be engineered between two strangers? The 36 questions make the protagonists laugh, cry, run away and lie. But once they've uncovered each other's secrets, will they fall in love? * The Independent *
I couldn't help but find it adorable and romantic. If this was a rom com movie, I think it'd do really well. And I'd definitely be queuing up to see it * The Books Are Everywhere *
I love this book. It puts a great modern twist on romance. I really recommend this book to anyone who enjoys funny love stories * Teen Titles *
