SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE DIRECTED BY CLINT EASTWOOD

Gripping, eye-opening, and powerful, American Sniper is the astonishing autobiography of SEAL Chief Chris Kyle, who is the record-holding sniper in U.S. military history. Kyle has more than 150 officially confirmed kills (the previous American record was 109), though his remarkable career total has not been made public by the Pentagon.

In this New York Times bestselling memoir, Kyle shares the true story of his extraordinary decade-long career, including his multiple combat tours in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and elsewhere from 1999-2009.

Kyle’s riveting first-person account of how he went from Texas rodeo cowboy to expert marksman and feared assassin offers a fascinating view of modern-day warfare and one of the most in-depth and illuminating looks into the secret world of Special Ops ever written.

He is the deadliest American sniper ever, called "the devil" by the enemies he hunted and "the legend" by his Navy SEAL brothers . . .

About the Author

SEAL Team 3 Chief Chris Kyle (1974-2013) served four combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and elsewhere. For his bravery in battle, he was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation. Additionally, he received the Grateful Nation Award, given by the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. Following his combat deployments, he became chief instructor for training Naval Special Warfare Sniper and Counter-Sniper teams, and he authored the Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine, the first Navy SEAL sniper manual. A native Texan, he served as president of Craft International, a world-class leader in training and security, while devoting much of his spare time to helping disabled veterans. Chief Kyle is survived by his wife and their two children.

What an iteresting career this man had.
Superbly trained, loyal to his friends and dedicated to taking the fight to his countries' enemies. This book is very matter of fact about his participation in combat and one feels somewhat lucky to survive. It also gives the thoughts of his wife about what she went through at the same time. It's unfortunate he was then murdered by an ex service man he was helping rehabilitate after he left the SEALS.

This is a story about a down to earth human being who found himself on the front line in the war following 9/11 This book is a must read for anyone who wants to know more about the troops and the work that they do with a blow by blow account of the things that the troops have to deal with on a daily basis. Even if you do not support the war in Iraq and elsewhere you will find this book a trip you will not forget in a hurry.
Chris Kyle is a modern day hero of the USA a proud Texan and Father his legacy will live on for a long long time. In a time when he was sometimes surrounded by lesser men Chris is a humble and sincere person who will be missed hugely by his surviving family and many many others.

"[My] favorite book of the year. Chris Kyle's "American Sniper" is an amazingly detailed account of fighting in Iraq -- a humanizing, brave story that's extremely readable."--PATRICIA CORNWELL, "New York Times Book Review"

“In the community of elite warriors, one man has risen above our ranks and distinguished himself as unique. Chris Kyle is that man. A master sniper, Chris has done and seen things that will be talked about for generations to come.” —MARCUS LUTTRELL, former USN SEAL, recipient of the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism under fire, #1 bestselling author of Lone Survivor
