This book is about three sisters and a father trying to make it in Colonial America. Without a mother Helen is trying to straddle being a leader and support her sisters through starting up from nothing in the new land and being a relinquishing her childhood. Anne has a solid strong, hardened attitude towards the challenges they face in life, but a occasionally a soft spot accompanies her. Leah is fun and playful but not helpful at all in her inexperience and place as the youngest child. The father, Abraham, leaves them with a store clerk in town as he travels with a rescue party to a ship of immigrants from England that have shipwrecked and been abandoned far to the south in colonial Virginia. The family also meets Alice Steward, and angelic neighbor who takes on a motherly role to the three sisters in teaching them and ministering to them. The themes of the story include freedom of conscious, and age old American value. With a mosque pattern on the front cover, this first book in a series of five, highlights the culture and beliefs of the Arab, Persian, and African people. There will be more surprises for other philosophies, ideas, and religions throughout the five part series popular in the international community today. Some things in the books include the entire lineage of Jesus Christ. Also the twelve sons of Ishmael are each represented throughout the five book series. They fuse the importance of modern immigrants and hope for international communities to be respected and also adopt this American value, freedom of expression and conscious, in the marketplace. These original immigrants represent the beginnings of many cultures and ideas brought to us in the modern world by a unstoppable continuation of immigrants and those around the world that respect it.
