Windows Server 2008 R2 & SQL Server 2008 R2 High Availability Clustering

Windows Server 2008 R2 & SQL Server 2008 R2 High Availability Clustering (Project Series) If you're looking for a book that takes the latest Microsoft and iSCSI SAN high availability technologies and puts them all together into one step by step project, then this book is for you! The world of high availability and clustering is evolving faster than ever and is definitely a very exciting place to be. Windows Server 2008 R2 & SQL Server 2008 R2 have opened up the world of high availability, clustering, virtualization, live migration and failover technologies to the small and medium size companies by including it with the server's license. Accompany this new software technology with multi-core processors and you have a very powerful and cost effective combination by being able to run many redundant virtual machines across a few physical servers. Once you've finished reading this book you will be able to build highly available environments from the ground up for any of your complex application servers that you need redundant ASAP. You will gain praise from your company by increasing their uptime and productivity, while at the same time greatly reducing your burden of maintenance by being able to update critical application servers at any time. This book guides the IT novice to the professional from start to finish in building a complex and highly available system for their real world enterprise applications. Microsoft's new technology is complex and needs to be put together in a chronological order where by each new part is built upon its prerequisites. To build a truly high performance and fully redundant system the author will guide you through designing and building each part of your environment from your iSCSI network, SAN disk layout, to your Windows and SQL clusters. Once you have your highly available foundation in place the author spends considerable time guiding you through how to deploy your enterprise applications into your new cluster environment. By utilizing Microsoft's Network Load Balancer (NLB), SQL Reporting Services Scale-out Deployment (SSRS), and Windows clusters for generic applications and services you will be able to make most any enterprise application highly available. The book's project covers step by step how to deploy Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 into a clustered environment as a real world example. Once complete with the creation of your highly available environment you will have virtual machines that can live migrate between physical hosts, redundant database servers, network load balanced front-end servers, highly available reports and a completely redundant iSCSI network in place. You will learn how to Build & Configure the following technologies Step by Step in this book. -iSCSI Multi-path Input/Output (MPIO) technology -iSCSI Switches & SAN's for High Performance & Redundancy -SAN Disk Layout for High Performance Clustering -Windows Server 2008 & R2 Clusters -Windows Live Migration Clusters with Clustered Shared Volume (CSV) Disks -SQL 2008 & R2 Clusters -SQL Disks for High Performance -SQL Reporting Services Scale-out Deployments for High Availability -Windows Network Load Balancer (NLB) Clusters -Windows Clusters for Third Party Applications & Services -Deploying Enterprise Applications into a Clustered Environment -Deploying Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 into a Clustered Environment -CRM 4.0 Security, Reporting, Internet Facing Deployment (IFD), Email Router for High Availability WWW.SCREAMPUBLICATIONS.COM
