Zane and his sister, Olivia, lost their parents shortly after he was bitten by a rogue werewolf. They ended up moving in with their uncle who is a werewolf, and were brought to his pack, as he was their only living relative. It turns out their Aunt Jolene was out of the country, and just returned to find out her sister was dead, and where the two kids had moved to, and quickly arranged to come to them.
