A banker who never takes risks.
A painter who has lost the will to create.
One private portrait that could ruin them both.
After her longtime boyfriend leaves her, Amelia Grant buries herself in work. But during a team building event in Chelsea, she meets Zoe Roth, a lesbian artist who sees the loneliness beneath Amelia's perfect control.
Zoe has not painted since her sister died. Amelia becomes the first person she wants to capture on canvas, and their secret sittings awaken more than Zoe's creativity. Amelia has desired women before, but she has never acted on it. With Zoe, desire becomes impossible to keep theoretical.
Then Zoe's portraits are exposed to New York's art world, placing Amelia's career at risk and offering Zoe the success she thought she had lost. To stay together, both women must stop hiding from the truths the paintings reveal.
