She had a plan. He wasn't in it.
At thirty, Maple An has built exactly the life she was supposed to want: a career she's earned, an apartment with a river view, and a clear sense of what comes next. What comes next is supposed to be marriage. What comes next is not supposed to be Evan — twenty-two years old, white shirt, easy smile, appearing at her bus stop one autumn morning like a problem she didn't know she had.
Eight years is a long time. Long enough for two people to want completely different things. Long enough for love to be real and still not be enough.
When 30 Meets 22 follows Maple and Evan through a year of wanting each other and wanting different futures — while around them, Maple's best friend Zoey dismantles every principle she's ever held about love, and a quiet CEO named Yining waits three years to say something true.
This is a story about what happens when the feeling is right and the timing is wrong. About the gap between the life you planned and the life that's actually in front of you. About being clear-eyed enough to see what something costs — and choosing it anyway.
For readers who have ever stood at the edge of something real and argued themselves out of it. Or into it.
