What if some of the things Christians confidently repeat are not actually stated in the Bible?

Wait: Backup - Are You Saying, That's in the Bible? invites readers to slow down, return to the text, and examine familiar claims with fresh eyes. Mitchell D. Pinckard approaches Scripture with the habits of an engineer and forensic investigator: observe carefully, separate evidence from assumption, test the explanation, and follow the evidence wherever it leads.

Drawing from Scripture, history, language, archaeology, science, and human behavior, the book examines how tradition, repetition, and inherited interpretation can quietly become accepted as biblical fact. Its purpose is not to replace one set of unquestioned claims with another. It is to help readers recognize the difference between what the Bible says, what people say it says, and what may have been added along the way.

Written in plain language and with a willingness to ask uncomfortable questions, this volume introduces the method of Forensic Biblical Investigation that guides the Wait: Backup series. It is for lifelong believers, curious skeptics, Bible-study groups, and anyone willing to pause before answering the question: Are you sure that's in the Bible?
