It's 2095, and citizens of the wealthy North enjoy extended life, perhaps forever, thanks to biotech implants called Stem. Quantum computing and AI have converged into thinking machines, Quants, who carry out complex tasks for us.
Utopia, or is it?
Sophie lives in the South. Her family is wealthy despite living in a society decades behind the North. Her mother dies unexpectedly despite Stem, sending Sophie and her father on a global quest for answers.
On the way, they encounter Mackenzie, the daughter of a technology billionaire, and Kazumi, heir apparent to the organisation that created Quants in the first place.
It soon becomes clear that the death of her mother was not an isolated incident.
