When nerdy, wisecracking teenager Eli was informed that his mother was going to Las Vegas on an impromptu vacation, the last thing he expected her to return with was a stranger for a new husband and talk of winning a million dollars. On the way to meet this mystery man, Eli is introduced to Lani; his angry, fauxhawk-wearing, gun-toting stepsister. What could go wrong?
Clearly not all is well in paradise. With no million dollars to be seen and Eli having to hitch a ride home with Lani, it couldn't get worse- at least, not until his parents get pulled over on the side of the highway and kidnapped at gunpoint.
