The Induction

Sable Arakawa was built for the cold vacuum of space, but she was born for the heat of the deep. When a thermal anomaly is detected beneath the nitrogen ice of Pluto, Sable descends into the borehole to investigate, only to find that the laws of physics have been replaced by the laws of desire.

Stripped of her armor and isolated in the crushing dark, she is hunted by the Vitruvian Polyp, a shapeshifting horror that hungers for her specific biological signature. As the environment degrades her high-tech gear into a "Lubricious Pellicle," Sable must navigate a labyrinth of sensory overload where the only way to survive is to surrender to the Induction—a terrifying transformation from human scientist to the Brood Mother of a new, dark world.
