Seraphine's brown eyes narrowed with a crooked grin that had his blood boiling.
"What's wrong, darling? Do you have a problem you forgot to mention?"
"No, beloved, it's just..."
"I know you can't do it. Don't worry, everyone can't kiss; it's normal for men who compensate for something else."
He knew his flames were surfacing from his skin by her sweet/toxic tone.
"Is that right?"
"Yes, besides, if you're like this, I don't know what to expect in the bedroom."
His sharp hearing could catch the slight cough from his men and the muted gasp of his maid.
As flames engulfed him, the priest stepped back, praying to heaven, and his staff moved away fearfully.
What he didn't expect was the laughter coming from his wife's lips as if he had told a secret joke.
"What's so amusing?"
"You! I knew you couldn't step up to the plate. A man who can say the vows but won't perform."
It didn't occur to him what he was doing until grasping her waist, pressing her soft body against his hard one.
