Detective Sergeant Daniel Warburton has been abducted by aliens. He is asked to participate in an experiment in which he will be given certain powers. Daniel agrees to be the focal point of the aliens experiment and inadvertently learns that the aliens had conducted the same experiment over 2000 years ago. Daniel also discovers that the recipient of the aliens gifts at that time was Jesus Christ. Daniel is deposited back on Earth to begin his arduous journey to save mankind from its self-destructive ways.
In his pursuit to create a Utopian society, Daniel draws the attention of those who don't share his vision. Mobster Jimmy Santini feels Daniel is a threat to the mafia way of life and sets out to kill him. Father Paul Sikora, fresh out of seminary school, at first embraces Daniel and his goals, but after learning of Daniel's blasphemy of Christ, becomes unhinged in his quest to stop Warburton.
Daniel experiences physical and emotional injury on his journey but presses on as he believes he is mankind's last hope of survival.
