For the last six months, Janella's secret Homeland Security Task Force gig has been a bust. Well, except for the ongoing consultant fee she receives. With no assigned tasks, it's a good thing she has her private investigative work to keep her busy.
However, when her simple domestic case unexpectedly embroils her deep into task force business, things quickly escalate out of control. The watchers and the watched are increasingly intertwined. Keeping track of everyone, and their roles, tests even the most informed.
And, people are dying. Explanations, if any, are couched in national security, need-to-know language. Apparently Janella doesn't need to know. But it's clear more is going on than being presented. In the middle of it, a new question arises: Is the task force legitimate?
As lack of trust between the players increases, so too do the number of deaths. Staying alive is now Janella's most important task.
